Network Marketing and Popcorn

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on March 30th, 2007
On our weekly Watkins Summit Group training and brainstorming call last night, one of our Executive leaders (Randy Robinson) shared an analogy with us. Building a profitable Watkins business, or any network marketing business, requires consistent and focused effort. Unfortunately, many new associates don't understand this principle and how important it is to their success. Think of your business as a bag of microwave popcorn. Yes, this is "corny", but don't leave me now! :) You put your bag of popcorn in the microwave for twenty seconds. Now, in twenty seconds, a lot of energy is put into that popcorn. Twenty seconds in that same microwave will melt a piece of chocolate and many other things. However, after twenty seconds your ...

The Watkins Home Business - One of a Kind

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on March 29th, 2007
Watkins is different from other home based business opportunities, in part because it offers a way for just about everyone to make money. You are not restricted to any one way to build your business. If you enjoy direct sales and hosting home parties, Watkins has something special for you. The "Good Tastings" program is a "business in a box" all by itself - a profitable and lasting business can be built around this concept alone. If you are looking for a long-term, residual income opportunity - Watkins offers a network marketing compensation plan that gives you power to leverage time and effort by sponsoring others into your business. You have an outstanding advantage, because the Watkins name is well-known and has ...

Talking to MLM Prospects

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on March 28th, 2007
The following article was originally posted here last December. I am posting it again tonight, because I have learned one of the biggest obstacles that MLM'ers and network marketers face is a fear of talking to others about their business. If you are really excited about your business, and truly believe in what you are doing, it is much easier to talk to prospects. Stop and evaluate your approach to your business - do you really feel comfortable talking to people about it? If not, why? Originally posted in December, 2006.... Some people who start home-based network marketing businesses like Watkins soon find that they are afraid to talk to others about their business. While this can reflect a lack of confidence ...

Are You Suited for Network Marketing?

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on March 26th, 2007
Today, I am continuing my "vacation time" posting. While I am out of town, I am bringing back some short articles I originally posted a few months ago. These articles are very relevant to anyone building a network marketing (MLM) or direct sales business. In this article, I address the reality that network marketing is NOT for everyone. Not everybody will tell you this. :) Originally posted in October, 2006.... I am a strong believer in the power and profitability of network marketing. I often see pitches for network marketing opportunities that scream “anyone can do this!” How can this be true? Is network marketing truly a business that is suitable for everyone, as we are sometimes led to believe? I believe ...

Finding More Business-Building Time

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on March 25th, 2007
The following article was posted here back in November. For those of us who work our network marketing or other home-based business online, it is often very hard to find enough time to get things done. This is especially true if you have a full-time job in addition to your home business (and this applies to a LOT of people). This article has some tips for finding those extra bits of time that can add up and make a big difference in your productivity over time! Originally posted in November, 2006..... If you are an online network marketer, or have any sort of Internet business, you spend a lot of time in front of your computer. If you are like many, you ...

How Important is Follow-Up in Network Marketing?

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on March 24th, 2007
Network marketers - how important is follow-up? Your new prospects are critical to continued growth of your business. It is very important to follow-up with them in a timely manner. Don't make the mistake of letting an automated followup system do all the work (this is if your business has such a system). The following article was originally posted here last September. While I am on vacation this week and next, I am re-posting some of the best articles from the last few months. Originally posted in September, 2006.... Your home based business prospect, Erica, just saw your ad for your network marketing business. She clicks your link and visits your web site. She thinks, “This might be what I’ve been looking ...

What is network marketing really about? It is about having your own business, making friends, having fun, and achieving financial success. Unfortunately, there are many misconceptions about network marketing and what it really is. This short article, posted last December, addresses some of the common misconceptions I often hear. Originally posted in December, 2006..... When looking around for a home based business, you see a lot of promotion for network marketing opportunities. What is the first thing you think when you hear or see the words “network marketing”? Unfortunately, some people immediately think negative thoughts, often based on myth or hearsay. Here are three common misconceptions about network marketing that I hear from time to time. To Make Money in Network Marketing, You Must ...

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on March 22nd, 2007
Originally posted in November 2006, I believe this short article is worth repeating. For those of us involved with network marketing or other home based business endeavors, keeping ourselves organized is crucial to our success. I am on vacation this week through next week, and each day I am re-posting articles on topics that will help anyone achieve greater success with their home based business. :) Originally posted in November, 2006.... How does a network marketer and home based business person juggle everything - life, work, play, family, and business - and make everything work? Some people like to use paper-based planners. Others prefer computer software designed to organize and keep track of everything from finances to fun. Whatever works for you ...

Home Business - Dealing with Discouragement

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on March 20th, 2007
First posted here in October 2006, this short article discusses a problem that all network marketers face at some point in their business - discouragement. Dealing with this discouragement is critical to your success. Unfortunately, I have seen some very promising businesses dry up and fail because of the associates' inability to deal with this. From October 2006.... Most Watkins associates, as well as those involved with other network marketing opportunities, will sooner or later face distraction and resulting discouragement with their business. This is a normal result of our busy lives today. Unfortunately, life does not just stop and let you work your business. As you are dealing with life issues and all the chores and problems that are involved, you ...

Network Marketing Actions That Mean Something

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on March 19th, 2007
The following is a post I originally made last September. I am on out of town on vacation this week, so I will be re-posting some of the things that I think are very important in building a successful network marketing business. From September, 2006..... If you are serious about building a home based business income with network marketing, you need to focus on activities that will actually produce results. Most of us don’t have unlimited time, so it is necessary to carefully plan our time and do productive things. One of the first things many home business builders want to do is “get organized”. They will spend endless time getting organized, setting up contact management software, contemplating business strategies, and so ...
