Network Marketing Prospects - A Numbers Game
You have probably heard it a thousand times - “prospecting in network marketing is a numbers game”. This is a fact. The more people you contact, talk to, and communicate with the more you’ll sponsor and the bigger your network marketing business will grow.
For people new to network marketing, the process of contacting and talking to a lot of people can be very intimidating. You may experience a lot of rejection, and I know it doesn’t help much to say “they are not rejecting you, they are rejecting your business”. While I believe that is usually true, it is still painful nonetheless.
Try to remember this: if you consistently make contacts, and talk to people, an average will appear. In the beginning, you might find an average of one interested prospect for every 15 people you talk to. Over time, as you gain experience and confidence, this average will improve. You may find that talking to 15 people results in 2-3 new prospects. These averages improve with practice and steady effort.
Make the law of averages work for you. Don’t prejudge people. You never really know who might be interested. You will talk to quite a few people who will be totally uninterested now, but may become hot prospects later. Life brings changes, and a person who has no interest in working for themselves today might have a total change of heart a year from now. The key is to plant the seeds. Get your message out to as many as you can.
There is one thing for sure - there are LOTS of people out there looking to improve their financial situation. There are LOTS of people who hate their work and are seeking alternatives. You job is to find them. It isn’t always easy, but if you persist the rewards are always well worth the effort!
