Franklin Planner and Goals - Part Four

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on February 18th, 2007

My thanks to Jan Robinson, my upline Executive in Watkins, for this excellent information on organizing and growing a Watkins business using the Franklin planning system. These same principles will apply to any other network marketing business. Planning is crucial for all. The following is part four (the final part) of this article.

Summary: (mind you this is a Reader’s Digest version)

In your 10 minutes look over your goals and values.
Look at your previous to do list and move anything that didn’t get done the day before, to today, or a day further out that looks better for getting it done.
Enjoy the check marks from the previous day’s list.
Add the items to do today and evaluate.

Its a proven scientific fact, that the act of making those check marks on a to do list, gives an endorphin rush! Use them - enjoy them! Its not only fun, its good for you!!

I am pretty detailed in my lists. I want as many checked off items as I can get, its motivating. Also, if I do something I hadn’t planned on, I’ll add it so I can mark it off. I’ll take those endorphin rushes whenever I can find them!

You’ll learn pretty quick what you can accomplish in a day, and what’s just going too far, and even super man/woman couldn’t get it all done. ;-)

If you use this system for 21 days:
1) nothing will ever slip through the cracks again.
2) you’ll sleep better than you ever slept before.
3) people will admire you and ask you what they are supposed to be doing!! ;-)

Three keys to using your day planner:
1) Use only one day planner ALWAYS!
2) Use only one calendar.
3) Eliminate all floating paper! Get all those notes and post-its and put the info into your planner.

Did you know, it takes 21 days to develop a habit? If you are trying to establish a new habit, it really helps to write it on the list for at least the 21 days it takes to establish a habit!
Then if you have it down, you can leave it off or keep it, whichever makes you feel better.

So for example, put your 10 minutes planning and solitude on your list each day.

I would absolutely love it, if you are using this system, for you to put in your daily tasks to send me an email 21 days from when you start this. Just let me know you are doing it and how its going! -Jan
