Franklin Planner and Goals - Part Three
My thanks to Jan Robinson, my upline Executive in Watkins, for this excellent information on organizing and growing a Watkins business using the Franklin planning system. These same principles will apply to any other network marketing business. Planning is crucial for all. The following is part three of four parts to this article.
Two Natural Laws:
1) We tend to move to our comfort zones.
2) To reach a goal we must expand or leave a comfort zone. (adventure)
If you look at leaving comfort zones as an adventure, you’re more likely to do it!
As you write each thing on the list - ask yourself - does this take me closer to what I want or further away or affect it all?
There will be some things that are hard to ignore, but there are times when you will have to work on the word ‘no’ and learn to delegate.
Once you make your list prioritize!
A - vital - must be done today!
B - should be done, could be put off a day or so, but still important
C - not vital, not urgent, possibly not necessary - BUT - might be fun, or interesting
Sometimes B’s and C’s if left long enough will turn into A’s. For example: change oil in car, or go to grocery store, or pay bills, you may put these down a few days in advance, but if you don’t get to them for several days, these could turn into urgent/vital tasks to be done immediately.
Next to each item on your to do list (in front) put A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, C1, C2, etc.
Here you’ve placed a priority on each item, then determined what order they should be done in.
Put this list next to your daily schedule, and schedule them in. This is NOT in stone and may change, that’s okay, the more you do this the more likely you are to figure out your days and what can be done in them.
So, if you schedule 30 minutes to study in the evening and call it B2, but stuff comes up and you don’t get it done, you’ll transfer it to the next day where it becomes B1, possibly. If you skip it again it may become A1 and you’ll have to schedule more time in.
There are some distractions, you will be able to refuse, ignore or accept. You may have to get tough on this!
To be continued tomorrow…..
