Friends Can Discourage You in Network Marketing
For many new network marketers, and some veterans, one of the most disappointing things you can face is a negative or unsupportive attitude from friends or relatives. This is very common, and causes much discouragement.
Here are a couple of truths that apply to many people in the world today. Bear these things in mind when someone tries to discourage you about your network marketing business.
First, some people (of all ages) have already given up on making any significant changes or progress in their life. They are in a rut, and it is much more comfortable to stick with the status quo than try to climb out of the rut. They find it hard to understand why YOU want to be different, and they have a good assortment of excuses for their failure to make more of themselves.
Second, some people focus mostly on making it through the week at their job (or whatever they do with their life). For those with regular jobs, it sometime comes down to “survival” for five days so they can make it to the weekend (and have two better days they can enjoy). For them, getting through the week is the big thing, and it takes all their effort to do so. Unfortunately, these folks will occasionally tend to resent anyone who goes the extra mile to do better.
It really doesn’t make sense - it would seem our friends or family would be our top supporters. However, it doesn’t always work that way. Sometime they are our worst critics.
Don’t let others discourage you. Don’t let them steal your dreams. Trust me, there are still LOTS of people out there who want to improve their lives, personally and financially. Focus on finding those people, and leave the naysayers behind.
