The Challenge in Network Marketing
What is the biggest challenge in building a network marketing business? Is it sponsoring, finding retail customers, or perhaps setting aside enough time to work your business? While all these things are challenges we as network marketers face, I believe there is one that tops them all. This challenge is something the new, enthused, and motivated business builder faces:
The challenge of being patient. Doing the right things, making the contacts, and waiting long enough for results.
I have seen potentially successful network marketers quit early on, because the results they expected did not come fast enough. Perhaps they went out and did all the right things (prospecting and followup) for a few weeks, and had little to show for it (no downline yet, and few product sales). How can this happen?
Network marketing is a people business. Do it online, do it offline, whatever works for you. The bottom line is, it takes time to build trust and relationships with prospects. With all the competition for the home based business seeker’s attention, consider that many of your prospects are probably looking at other opportunities as well. Even if you have a good, automated follow-up system for your home business prospects you still need to contact them personally and build trust.
Successful sponsoring in network marketing is all about getting as many prospects as possible to look at your business, and doing consistent and personal followup. As you get more and more prospects in the funnel, and continue practicing the fundamentals of ongoing prospecting and followup, you will begin to see your business grow. It might be a slow start, but at a certain point momentum takes over and things start going crazy. It is at this point you will be so thankful that you stuck it out and had patience!
If you are new to network marketing, please seek training and support from members of your upline who are successful. Devote as much time as you can to your business, and consistently do the right things. Be patient. Many of the most successful network marketers I’ve met started out slowly, but stuck with it and sooner than later started experiencing excellent growth in their income and business.
