Picking Good Network Marketing Opportunities
If you’re like most people who are trying to find a legitimate home based business, you’ve probably heard some bad stories about network marketing or MLM. This is understandable, because there is no end to scam and pyramid schemes that promote themselves as legitimate MLM or network marketing. Scams and pyramid schemes focus on payout for the act of recruiting others into the scheme. Legitimate MLM and network marketing opportunities focus on earning money from actual product sales.
Network marketing is a very appealing home business. Startup costs are low, and there are few businesses that allow you to start part-time while working a job and build an income that can far exceed the income from the job. Because the concept is so powerful, many scammers use the term to make their schemes sound legitimate. Be careful when choosing a network marketing / MLM opportunity. Here are five things to look for.
1) Look for an opportunity with real products that people will want to buy. Would you buy the products at the retail price if you were not in the business? Have you tried the products for yourself?
2) Look for products that are consumable, and that have broad appeal. Can the products potentially be used in almost every home?
3) Find out what training options are available. Is comprehensive training provided for free (as it should be), or will you be required to buy a lot of additional training materials?
4) Talk to your potential upline. Find out how active they are, and what their goals are for their business. You want to sign up with someone who is actively working their business, and who will be available when you need help.
5) Do a Google search and check out the reputation of the company. Assuming the company has been in business for a few years, see what people are saying about the company and products. This is an important part of your research. Find out all you can before you made a decision.
There are quite a few good MLM and network marketing companies out there. Unfortunately, there are many scams as well. Do your research.
To your success!
