2007 Goals For Your Network Marketing Business

As a network marketer and home based business builder, you are most likely in business to increase your overall income and perhaps one day attain complete financial independence. Unfortunately, many home business entrepreneurs in network marketing or MLM will have pretty much the same results this year as they did in 2006. The reason? They have not defined definite goals and targets, and developed specific strategies to achieve them.

I am very familiar with this, because for a long time I did what many network marketers do. Rather than creating a specific plan for growing my business from year to year, I chose to just “wing it”. I tried to do the right things, but without much direction other than thinking “I want to build my business bigger and make more money”. I did not have specific targets, and tended to just drift along and enjoy whatever growth or success that happened. Thankfully, I did have growth in my business and income, but it was much less than what it could have been.

You need to set goals for your business, if you want to be successful. Here are three tips that can help you.

1) Set goals that excite you, and push you to action. Write them down. It is VERY important to write your goals down, in detail, and refer to them often. There is something about writing goals down that makes them more real. Until I learned this, I really didn’t have specific goals. I just wanted to make more money. I found that when I developed specific goals and set them high enough to be challenging, and wrote them down, it helped me focus on my business and achieve much more dramatic results.

2) Set goals that are exciting, but realistic. Your objectives need to challenge you, but still be attainable without becoming a workaholic or stressing yourself to death. Realistic and challenging goals pull the best from you, without sacrificing your health or sanity. Work with your successful upline leaders to determine what goals are realistic for you.

3) Work with your sponsor, or closest upline leader that is successful in your business. Talk to them about your goals, and develop a relationship. Become accountable to them, and call them frequently to discuss things that are happening in your business. Working with your successful upline in network marketing is a very important step to achieving the success you desire! Sure, you can work alone and still succeed, but teaming with an upline leader can accelerate your progress and make things happen faster!
