Choosing a Solid Network Marketing Opportunity

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on January 31st, 2007
I recently read an article that made some points related to choosing a solid network marketing opportunity. I would like to analyze and comment on these points, as related to a Watkins home-based business. - A viable company should be product backed. I agree 100%. The Watkins business opportunity is backed and fueled by products that are top-quality, which have stood the test of time. - The company headquarters has a physical address that is easily found. Watkins has been in business for over a century. Their headquarters in Winona, Minnesota, is noted for its architectural structure and design. - The company has a compensation plan that is fair and money is paid when due. The Watkins compensation plan is designed to reward business builders at ...

Wishes Can Come True!

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on January 29th, 2007
There's a story about a study done at Yale University in 1953 of the graduating seniors and they found that only 3% of them had clear and specific, written down goals for their futures. Twenty years later, they did a survey of those same graduated seniors and found that the 3% who had the written goals were worth more, financially, than the other 97% combined! You'll hear this story from many big name speakers. But it's also said to be a myth - it never happened. True or not, the moral of the story is important and that's that most people don't set goals and the ones that do, will do better. When someone starts talking about goals, my eyes start to ...

Promoting Your Business on Message Boards

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on January 28th, 2007
Often, new associates joining my group in Watkins are looking for economical ways to advertise their business. One excellent way to promote your business (long-term) is through the use of message boards and user groups. This is a long-term strategy, because it takes time to build a presence and establish credibility in an online community. Here are some do's and do not's for effectively promoting your business with message boards and online communities. DO pick a community where you have a common interest with others in the community, and knowledge to share. Many people go immediately to home business and "work from home" type boards, because they feel the best prospects are there. This is fine, if you have information to share. ...

Three Powerful Network Marketing Strategies

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on January 26th, 2007
Would you like to learn three strategies that will increase your success in network marketing? Keep these things in mind and put them in practice - the results will amaze you! 1) Don't be a recruiter. If you think of prospects for your business as potential "recruits", your prospects are likely to feel that you are trying to sell them something. Nobody likes to be "sold". Instead of thinking in terms of "recruiting", think in terms of how you can help your prospect. Find out about their goals and dreams, and tell them how your network marketing business can help them achieve those goals and dreams. 2) Don't give a sales pitch. Instead, learn the benefits of your business and hold a ...

The Challenge in Network Marketing

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on January 25th, 2007
What is the biggest challenge in building a network marketing business? Is it sponsoring, finding retail customers, or perhaps setting aside enough time to work your business? While all these things are challenges we as network marketers face, I believe there is one that tops them all. This challenge is something the new, enthused, and motivated business builder faces: The challenge of being patient. Doing the right things, making the contacts, and waiting long enough for results. I have seen potentially successful network marketers quit early on, because the results they expected did not come fast enough. Perhaps they went out and did all the right things (prospecting and followup) for a few weeks, and had little to show for it (no ...

Reducing Home Office Paperwork Clutter

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on January 24th, 2007
I recently read an article about home office clutter, and found a statement that was very interesting to me. This article referred to home office clutter as a consequence of delaying decisions. The more I thought about this, the more sense it made. Look around your home office, and look at the paperwork that is lying around. Why is it there? Most likely you have made stacks of paper, and placed paperwork in “strategic” positions around your office, to remind yourself to do something. Perhaps you printed some information you intended to use in following up with a business prospect. You may have a reasonably organized filing cabinet, but stacks of papers needing to be filed are just lying around taking ...
