Two Reasons to Never Quit Network Marketing
I was speaking with one of my new Watkins associates tonight. This gentleman joined Watkins with desire, motivation, and a real understanding of the commitment it takes to build a network marketing business online. Sometime, though, even new Watkins associates with great attitudes quit working their business before it has a decent chance to grow. This happens with people in all network marketing and home based business opportunities. It is just human nature.
Given that Robert came on board with a great attitude, and is really just getting started after two months, why would the thought of quitting even cross his mind? It can happen to anyone. When I spoke with Robert, here is what I learned. Robert has committed a good bit of money to advertising his new Watkins business. He has purchased advertising online to promote both retail sales of the products, as well as advertising aimed at sponsoring new associates in his group. In my opinion, he has done all the right things so far.
Robert is a little discouraged at this point because his online retail sales and sponsoring numbers are not what he expected. When you are all excited and pumped up about your business, your expectations for your initial successes can be higher than what you achieve in those first few weeks in business.
Assuming you have chosen a stable and reputable opportunity, here are two good reasons to never give up your new network marketing business.
1) Success is the accumulation of effort put in for days, weeks, and months ahead of time. The things you do today (contacts you make, information you provide, etc.) won’t necessarily show results immediately. I recently had a new Watkins associate join my group. This associate has done very well in her first two months. She is a prospect that initially visited my Watkins web site back in April 2003. After 3+ years of follow-up from our group (the Summit Group), she decided the time was right. This is from an effort (an ad, perhaps) I put in sometime in early 2003. Having new associates join Watkins one or two years after initially visiting our site is not unusual.
2) Your first (or next) big leap in your business may be just ahead. Sometime these leaps come during the slowest of times when things don’t seem to be going well. I remember a time last year when my sponsoring and group sales activity was unusually low for a month. I was puzzled, I couldn’t figure out what was going on. Then, the following month boomed and I had more activity than I normally would in two months combined. The averages work out in your favor, if you are working your business and doing the right things consistently.
Don’t quit! Believe in yourself and your business, and achieve your dreams!
