Writing Articles to Promote Your Home Business

Promoting Watkins or any other network marketing business online comes down to getting exposure for your web site (or your affiliate page where people can learn about your business and sign up). Historically, two of the most effective ways to promote a home business online are:
1) by paid advertising (such as Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing)
2) spending lots of time networking online and actively participating in online communities
Either method can work. There is another way that I’ve discovered which allows you to promote your business virtually for free. All it takes is time, patience, and a willingness to learn some skills.
The method I am talking about is writing articles. Before you say “Oh I can’t do that” or “I am not a writer”, consider this. Let’s say you are looking for a homebased business opportunity. You visit several web sites and read a lot of sales pitches. Then, you search for information about home businesses and find some well-written articles about choosing a home based business. You find an article that you particularly like, and see that the author has a link to a business that might be of interest to you. Bingo! That article gives the author some credibility, and gives you a bit of an introduction to him or her. Doesn’t that beat just reading a sales pitch?
Webmasters, ezine publishers, and other web publishers are hungry for good content. You can write articles related to your business and submit them to hundreds of article directories and ezines. What it takes is time. You need to write articles that relate to your business. For example, since I have a successful Watkins products business, I choose to write articles about home based business and network marketing. Articles about working from home. Topics like this relate to my business, and will be of interest to others who are looking for an opportunity to make money from home.
It is very important to study good writing techniques and turn out quality material. The Internet is full of poorly written articles that look like someone threw them together in ten minutes. Articles like this will impress no-one. You want to write interesting and helpful material. This is what will make people want to visit your site and explore your opportunity.
You can learn a lot about writing articles by going to Google and typing in search terms like “writing articles for the web”.
