Network Marketing Failure - Reason Five

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on October 21st, 2006
The fifth reason that new Watkins associates and other network marketers and MLM'ers fail is that they care only for what they can get out of the business. In other words, "what's in it for me" is all that matters to them. Since network marketing and MLM is a people business, this is a terrible attitude to have. Have you ever signed up for a network marketing business opportunity, paid good money to get started, then found that nobody upline seems to really care about your success? Have you ever called or emailed your upline and received no response? Has the communication from your upline been only in the form of generic email messages that are sent to everyone? I think ...

Network Marketing Failure - Reason Four

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on October 20th, 2006
The fourth reason that network marketing associates fail (Watkins associates or any other), is that they are uninformed on how to succeed in network marketing or MLM. They have not taken advantage of training provided, or in general have not taken time to learn what works. Many new network marketers feel that they already know how to run a business. Salespeople think they know. Traditional business owners, managers, and people in other professions which (at first glance) look similar to network marketing or MLM, think they already know how to do it because they are already successful and accomplished in what they do. When I first joined Watkins, I thought I knew how to do it. I wasn’t convinced initially that ...

Network Marketing Failure - Reason Three

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on October 19th, 2006
As I have worked my Watkins business over time and had the chance to meet hundreds of other home business entrepreneurs, I have found that unsuccessful network marketers and MLM'ers spend way too much time thinking, planning, organizing, reading, and pondering. The only way to have success and make money with Watkins (or any other network marketing business) is to take action and contact people. Communicate. Like doctors, lawyers, and other professionals, we as network marketers must have contacts and we must communicate with these contacts in order to build a profitable home based business. That is the main action that is required to be successful in network marketing. Certainly, our lives are busy. We have our job, our yard needs ...

Network Marketing Failure - Reason Two

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on October 18th, 2006
As discussed in the first article of this series, network marketing (sometimes called MLM) is one of the most profitable home based businesses you can start. Sadly, most people who start network marketing businesses fail to make any money, and many lose money trying. They never achieve their goal, whether it is to work at home full-time, or just earn an extra $500 each month. I say, "never achieve their goal", but this is assuming that the new network marketer has a goal for his/her business. Unfortunately, most do not. This installment will discuss the lack of clearly defined goals, and how that affects success. It is important to know what you want from your business. You need some direction, some ...

Network Marketing Failure - Reason One

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on October 17th, 2006
While network marketing (sometimes called MLM) is one of the most profitable home based businesses you can start, a high percentage of those who start a network marketing business fail to ever make a profit, let alone the full-time income they probably hoped for. There are a number of reasons for failure in network marketing or MLM. Assuming you have chosen a reputable opportunity with quality products, it boils down to things the new associate or distributor is not doing correctly. These reasons apply to Watkins associates, as well as those involved with other opportunities. This is the first in a series of articles that will discuss some of the reasons network marketers and MLM'ers fail. The first reason - the new ...

The following article was written by Jerry Fochtmann. Jerry is the Summit Group's technical guru who takes care of our web sites and handles new associate signups, among many other things. Jerry is an Executive with Watkins, which is the highest level of achievement. His dedication and passion for Watkins has given him financial freedom and total time flexibility. Jerry's article: Your Weekend Plans - Tension Relieving or Asset Achieving? Back before the turn of the century, I was still working in the "real world." I didn't completely hate the job I held back ...

Over Organizing Your Home Business

Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on October 13th, 2006
Many people, when starting a network marketing or MLM home based business, think they must have everything just so-so before they can launch their new business. They will attend to every imaginable detail in an effort to ensure future success. I was guilty of this when I first started with Watkins. I wanted to have everything in place. I created a small home office in a spare room. After setting up my computer, I evaluated and reviewed many contact management software options before I finally settled on one. I fretted and agonized over numerous details, like how to organize a filing system. I planned, thought, planned some more, thought some more, planned even more.....I think you get the picture. I was a ...
