Laziness in Network Marketing
Some people start a home based business like Watkins and think “Okay, I’ve purchased my kit, so where is my bonus check?” In some way, they feel that the mere act of purchasing a distributor kit is going to make them a success. They may even have a deep inner “warm fuzzy” about the kit, thinking of it as their key to the start of something BIG. But, that Watkins kit will never make money for them by itself. The same goes for any other network marketing business you start. You can’t just sit back and wait for something to happen, or wait until the “time is right”. You must take immediate action as soon as you get your kit. This will develop momentum and get you off to a successful start.
The Watkins business, and network marketing businesses in general, work like any other business endeavor. There are several things you must do to be successful in network marketing. Here are some things that help ensure your success.
Use the Products - you must use your own products and become very familiar with them. You need to have confidence in the quality and value of the products your company sells. Whether your company is long-established or brand new, you need to use and learn all you can about your products.
Develop Customers - while the power of network marketing is achieved by building a downline organization, it is important that everyone develop at least a small retail customer base. It isn’t necessary to spend a lot of time trying to retail products. You never have to go door-to-door or pressure anyone. Simply sharing a few catalogs or samples can get the job done. Develop customers one at a time, and watch your income grow.
Develop Associates - in Watkins and other MLM or network marketing businesses, the long-term residual income you seek lies in developing a downline group. From this group, you make a percentage on all products that are sold or consumed within that group. The power of duplication in network marketing is amazing - your income can start out slowly, then start making unbelievable jumps from month to month as your downline group grows and multiplies.
These are three keys to success in network marketing - use your products, develop customers one at a time, and develop new associates one at a time. Do these three things and keep your eye on your goals, and you will be a success.
