Watkins Products in WalMart
Posted in Watkins Business by Eldon on September 19th, 2006 I occasionally get questions from folks who have seen Watkins Products in Wal-Mart, or perhaps in another large retail chain like Target. People wonder why, when Watkins is sold through independent associates like myself. Over the last few years, Watkins has placed a small number of products in select Walmart stores, as well as other retailers. The purpose of this is to build “brand awareness” and expose more people to our products. The selection of products displayed this way is very small. Building “brand awareness” is designed to help the independent associates by increasing interest in our products. In addition, many people are not aware that Watkins is still in business. Our opportunity for growth is still huge, and this program helps make Watkins a household name.
Our challenge in Watkins is this: When people in North America think about preparing better meals, maintaining their family’s health, pampering themselves, or making their home more inviting, some other brand of products comes to mind for the vast majority. We want get the word out so more people think of Watkins.
I have had several people contact me after seeing the products in a Walmart store. Because of the very limited selection placed in retail stores, people look for Watkins associates like me when they want to order additional products. This has definitely helped my business.
