Promoting Your Website with FFA Links
I often sponsor folks who are interested in building their Watkins business online, but they have little money to invest in advertising and promotion. One of the first things they discover, while looking around, is the large number of FFA (free for all) link pages on the Internet. There are a number of paid services that promise to “blast your ad” to thousands or even millions of these sites.
This sounds very appealing! Small investment, lots of ads and links to your site. However, there is a catch.
Very few business opportunity seekers actually land on FFA pages and click the links. A FEW do, but not many. FFA link pages are set up for one main reason - to collect email addresses from those who submit their links, so the owners of these pages can send their own ad back to you endless times.
In summary - posting to FFA link pages is virtually worthless. If you use an automated program to post to hundreds or thousands of them, and do this often, you will probably get a few hits. My experience has been, though, that these hits do not convert to actual signups or sales for your business. The true purpose of FFA link pages is not to provide a place for people to advertise free, but rather to collect email addresses for future promotions.
