Your Watkins business can be the beginning of a fun and rewarding journey to financial freedom.
Are you ready to really get after it and make your dreams come true?
If you’ve already joined Watkins, you’ve made a positive decision. Now, at this point, a couple of things can happen.
You can get started quickly and start making money, or you can put it off and wait for life to be less busy, or for certain things to be “just right”.
I strongly urge you to get started now, don’t delay. There is so much to gain here and nothing to lose. Here are seven keys to success in your Watkins products business that our Summit Group team has put together.
First Key: Decide Why You Want It
This is the initial step that makes the big difference in your success with Watkins. I have no doubt that you started your business for a reason, but you should be very specific.
What drives you to go out and talk to people about our products and opportunity? It should be something that has strong emotional meaning to you. Look at the difference between these two reasons for doing this.
- I want to make some extra money.
- I am sick of wasting my life working at [employer], I’m ready to build my income full time with Watkins so I can pursue my passions and provide a better life for my family.
Quite a difference, you see?
Second Key – Use Watkins Products
Surprisingly, I’ve sponsored people who wanted to build a profitable Watkins business but only wanted to try an occasional product here and there.
You have some of the finest products in the world here. The more familiar you are with them, the more they become a part of your story. When you’re telling others about our opportunity, your passion for the products will shine through and be quite persuasive.
This is why it’s so important to be a product or your own products.
Third Key – Believe in Yourself and What You’re Doing
While Watkins is known for being a direct selling opportunity, it is also a network marketing business. The network marketing compensation plan is what will reward you with long term residual income.
You must believe in network marketing, and see it as a legitimate and powerful business model. If you have reservations about this, you should examine them and fix the problem.
If someone comes up to you and asks “what kind of business are you in”, would you feel hesitant to use the words “network marketing” or “MLM” in your response? If so, that will hold you back and stop you from reaching your full potential with Watkins.
Fourth Key – Create Your Business Plan and Strategy
Get with your sponsor and upline leaders and create a strategy for building your Watkins business to whatever level you want it to be.
If your goal is to make $5000 per month, your leaders can help you see what that will take, and how to make it happen. Be careful not to get so involved in planning that you hesitate to start your business, though. Over analyzing and planning can lead to procrastination and frustration, which isn’t good.
Make a plan, and get into action. You can tweak and modify the plan as you go, if needed.
Fifth Key – Talk to People About Watkins Products and the Business Opportunity
I believe this is where many associates stumble. The love the products and the company, and really want to earn a nice income, but they just don’t create enough connections to make it happen.
You have to get out there and expose as many people as you can to Watkins. Many will have no interest in the opportunity but will become customers. Others who are looking to make money from home will join you in business.
Nobody will do anything though, unless they hear from you. Set a goal for yourself to connect with a certain number of prospects each day. Let’s pick a number – 10. Talk to ten people every day about Watkins. Most should be new prospects, some will be follow ups with people you’ve already talked to before. Keep a count and hold yourself accountable for this.
Sixth Key – Grow Your Downline and Retail Customer Base
If you use the fourth key to create a solid business plan, and execute that plan by talking to people daily as stated in the fifth key, you WILL sponsor people and get retail customers.
It’s really that simple. Honestly, where most people fail in Watkins, is thinking that reaching one or two people a week is enough. It isn’t. The more lines you put in the water, the greater number of fish you’ll catch. In this respect, prospecting is a numbers game. You have to work the numbers.
Seventh Key – Enjoy Financial and Time Freedom
The last key is the actual result of focusing on the previous six. This is where it’s at, folks. Put your heart into your business, use Watkins products, connect with people, it will happen!
In Watkins, our products and their reputation give us a huge advantage in the marketplace immediately. The name recognition is good, and people instinctively know that these are quality products that are real. Take advantage of this – most home business opportunities do not have this advantage!
