You ever run into those people who seem determined to put you down for starting a home business?
People who seem to enjoy being negative and tearing down the hopes and dreams of everyone around them?
Sad to say, these dream crusher types are out there lurking, just laying in wait for someone like you to come along and be positive about making money from home. You are the type of person that sets them off, so they can dump their negativity all over you.
Why do these people like to do this? What joy do they get out of putting others down? I’m not sure all the reasons, but I can tell you they will really try to rain on your enthusiasm. If you aren’t prepared for them and strong in your attitude, they can drag you down and discourage you.
Here is the deal. You got started with your home business because you have a vision. A dream. A goal. You want a better life and are willing to step out of your comfort zone to get it. You know your current situation is only temporary. You’re going for more!
What happens when you decide to break free, step out, become a champion, and achieve financial freedom? You unleash all sorts of good things. It’s amazing how circumstances will materialize that help you along the way, once you make a firm decision to do something. There is something about being firm, determined, and focused that attracts whatever it takes to make your home business grow and prosper.
Along with the good things comes a negative thing, unfortunately. You’ll become a target for people who just can’t stand seeing someone striving for more. For some reason they just hate seeing people lift themselves up. They want you to give it up and join them as they wallow in misery. Why?
I’m not a psychologist, so I’m not sure all the reasons for this. What I do know is that negative people have a sour outlook and attitude and will try to pull you down. They will try to persuade you that you are dumb for starting a home business. They might enjoy telling a story about their Uncle John who was in one of those “pyramid scheme network marketing things” and ended up with a garage full of products and an empty wallet.
Don’t let these dream crushers get you down. They are just this way. They are wired to look down on anyone who isn’t miserable and unhappy like they are, and they will try to drag you to their level. You’ll recognize them right away. Believe it or not, many of them feel they are doing you a favor and rescuing you from something horrible! Don’t let them.
Just be pleasant, thank them for their opinion (you may have to grit your teeth) and move on. I know it isn’t always easy to be cool and indifferent when dealing with negative dream crusher types, but you have to.
This is why it’s so important to feed your mind with good stuff daily. Motivational presentations, positive affirmations, success stories, anything that inspires and motivates you to positive daily action and home business success. Stay on top of this and the negative people won’t steal your dream!
